Hi Madeline, Karen, and Rob!
… or other lovely people from Defense Unicorns.
First of all, thank you for taking the time to look at my work! Based on the job description and the notes I’ve received, I think I’d be a great fit for the Product Designer - UDS Registry position. I figured I’d save you some time and point you to the items that might be more important to you.
4+ years’ experience as a design lead for an HSI suite of products
5+ years’ experience running user engagements remotely
Love to get into the code (React, HTML, CSS) and fix the UI myself - saving developers’ precious time
8+ years’ experience working with Figma and Adobe XD
If you need proof that you wrote this job description specifically for me, but forgot to put my name on it, the logo I created for HSI is on the right. Huge. HUGE. Fan of unicorns. I literally have 10 unicorn tees. I will wear them religiously. But seriously, I have the chops too.
A note: most of my work that’s strictly UX-related (for Key Lime/federal agency and LyondellBasell has been confidential. I either can’t show any of it, or have to remove the actual data, and whitewash it before it’s on my portfolio. As such, the amount of content is a little light for the experience I have.

Representing AI
During my time at LyondellBasell, much of the focus was building products that were machine learning and AI-focused. I learned that many of the engineers using our products wanted to know exactly how formulas were calculated, where the data came from, etc., and was able to visualize that information for them.
Data viz
Well-versed in data visualization. Seriously, you should see my work desk with the plethora of data viz books. Can throw real data into Python to get a quick visualization, as well as code the UI if needed.
